Donoso Group was born from the vision of a group of investors with a passion for wine who believe that attention to detail, maintenance of quality over time, respect for traditions and their transfer to new generations, give life to a perfect assembly, which the Donoso Group captures in its high-end wines.
With almost 30 years of experience in international markets, we care about maintaining the quality and personality of our wines through a comprehensive relationship in all our processes, such as the optimal work of our vineyards, the different winemaking styles, various aging strategies wine as: Oak wood, clay pots and concrete eggs, which generates a constant search for character in our terroir, to finally capture it in our bottles and customers.
We are responsible for different oenological projects that rescue the character of the Maule Valley, from the mountain range to the coast, producing world-renowned wines.
Viña Casa Donoso was born around 1960, where Mrs. Lucia Donoso forged and developed this oenological project, building the first wine cellar.
In 1989, it was acquired by a group of French wine lovers who saw unique potential in our terroir, and particularly in the Maule Valley.
Thus, during the 90's, Casa Donoso began to professionalize and modernize the production and elaboration of wines. New plantations of traditional vines such as Cabernet, Merlot, Carmenere and Cabernet Franc are incorporated, the first stainless steel vats are brought in, along with top-level European machinery and the wine cellar is built. Likewise, American and French oak barrels are incorporated together with a specialized storage cellar for such purposes. Our oenological laboratory is also incorporated, which daily monitors the optimal quality care in the different processes and according to the best current international practices.
In 2010, Viña Casa Donoso was acquired by a Chilean group, transforming it into the Donoso Group, an oenological group that produces and markets different brands such as Casa Donoso, Las Casas de Vaquería, Sucesor, San V, Pocoa, Palmira, among others.
Our Mission is to be the main benchmark for Premium wine from the Maule Valley worldwide.
Our Vision is to present an oenological proposal of quality and elegance, which positions us in the most relevant markets in the world, keeping us current through the generation of luxury experiences (new strains, special tastings, unconventional locations)
Following high standards of quality and production, it is respect for the grape that drives us as a winemaking philosophy, which grows in long-lived vineyards. We make sure that our wines have a balanced use of wood, with the aim of micro-oxygenating and improving their evolution, respecting the aromas and intense fruitiness of our grapes. This allows us to have a wide range of wines recognized for being elegant, aromatic and of quality worldwide.
